Longines is proud to announce that it has become the Title Partner of the newly-named Longines PfingstTurnier Wiesbaden.

Wiesbaden (Germany) / Saint-Imier (Switzerland), 23 April 2019 – The Swiss watch brand Longines is proud to announce that it has become the Title Partner of the newly-named Longines PfingstTurnier Wiesbaden, taking place from 7 to 10 June 2019. This international event, organised by the Wiesbadener Reit- und Fahr-Club (WRFC), gathers the best horses and riders from the disciplines of show jumping, dressage, eventing and vaulting for four days of intense competitions in the Biebrich Schlosspark’s unique atmosphere.

Passionate about the equestrian world since its very beginnings, the Swiss watch brand Longines is delighted to further strengthen its links with the equestrian sports by becoming the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the Longines PfingstTurnier Wiesbaden. This international fixture, initiated 90 years ago already by the WRFC, will take place from June 7 to 10 June 2019 at the Biebrich Schlosspark and feature events in four disciplines: show jumping, dressage, eventing and vaulting. It will conclude with the highlight trial, the Longines Grand Prix Großer Preis der Landeshauptstadt Wiesbaden, to which Longines is proud to lend its name.

“We are delighted by this new partnership between the WRFC and Longines, which combines both continuity and opportunity“, commented Kristina Dyckerhoff, President of the WRFC. “Horses are the absolute focus for myself, my colleagues at the WRFC, as well as for Longines. The important tradition encapsulated in this competition, together with our love for equestrian sports and the unique scenery of the Biebrich Schlosspark create year after year an unparalleled event, and we look forward to living the next edition with Longines as a partner.”

Matthieu Baumgartner, Longines Vice President Marketing, added: "It is with great pride that Longines has joined forces with the Wiesbadener Reit- und Fahr-Club and has become the Title Partner of the Longines PfingstTurnier Wiesbaden. Steeped in history, this event is in line with the values both equestrian sports and Longines promote, namely tradition, elegance and performance. Our brand has been involved in equestrian sports for more than a century and a half, and we look forward to providing our timekeeping expertise and technical know-how to all competitions of the event.”

Longines’ passion for equestrian world dates back to 1869, when it produced a pocket watch engraved with a proud horse head. In 1912 already, the Swiss watch brand first partnered with an international show jumping competition in Portugal. Today, Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes show jumping, dressage, driving, endurance and eventing competitions, as well as horse racing.
