Paralympic Winter Games
By: OMEGA International Press Office | MAR 2022
This year’s sporting action in Beijing will continue from March the 4th as the 13th Paralympic Winter Games gets underway. Once again, OMEGA will fulfil its role as the Official Timekeeper of the occasion, in which 78 events will be contested in six sports.
Until March 13th, OMEGA will be behind the clock in every single sport, just as it has done at 30 Olympic Games – including the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 which took place earlier this year. As the world’s premier sports timekeeper, the brand will be deployed across all venues and will rely on its historic expertise and modern innovation to complete the job.
These Paralympic Winter Games, whose emblem is “Flying High”, includes elite sporting events for athletes from different disability groups. OMEGA has a long-term partnership with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), which began with OMEGA’s first role as Official Timekeeper in 1992 at the Paralympic Games in Albertville.
OMEGA President and CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann says, “We are delighted to be a part of this
special event, as the Paralympic athletes once again strive toward their dreams. With our
experience, expertise and undoubtable technology, we have everything in place to measure each
inspiring performance.”
Athletes taking part in Beijing will compete in events from six sports including alpine skiing, crosscountry
skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, para ice hockey and wheelchair curling. As ever, it will
be down to OMEGA to ensure that every result is recorded with unrivalled accuracy.
